etúHOME boards are crafted from Oak or Acacia wood, which are both equally prized for their durability and natural beauty, but proper care is essential to maintain its integrity and prevent splitting, cracking, or warping. Follow these simple steps to keep your board in excellent condition for years to come.
1. Hand Wash After Each Use
- Hand wash only with warm water and mild dish soap immediately after use.
- Avoid soaking and never place in the dishwasher - excess moisture can cause warping.
- Dry with a clean towel and stand upright to ensure complete drying.
2. Condition Regularly and Nourish Often
- Apply etúHOME’s Board Wax or a food-grade mineral oil to keep the wood hydrated.
- Use a soft cloth to coat the entire surface, including the edges.
- Let it absorb for a few hours or overnight, then wipe off any excess.
- Reapply in between uses or whenever the board looks dry.
3. Avoid Abrasive Cleaners
- Do not use bleach, harsh chemicals, or spray cleaners as they can dry out and damage the wood.
To extend the lifespan of your board, rotate between both sides for even wear. With regular care, your wood board will develop a rich patina and remain a timeless staple in your kitchen.
Cutting Board Care Instructions: To prevent and resolve surface stains, wipe the surface clean with a hot soapy water immediately after using and then dry with a clean, dry dish towel. Never submerge your wood board in water and avoid abrasive cleaning products. For an all-natural stain removal remedy, dampen board with warm water and sprinkle coarse salt and/or baking soda over it. Cut a lemon in half and rub over the board while gently squeezing to release the juice. Let stand for 5 minutes and use a scrub brush to remove excess.
