Originating in Scotland in the 15th C, this spurtle is the kitchen tool you never knew you needed. A turned wood kitchen accessory, this spurtle can be used to prevent lumps in sauces, broths, and porridge. Due to its cylindrical shape, the spurtle allows oats to be stirred and whisked without the dragging effect of the head of a wooden spoon. The smaller surface area also prevents the porridge from sticking to it.
